1910 PR Retrospective

Looking back on this semester in 1910 PR it is amazing to see the progress I have made over the past couple of months.
When I originally signed up for the course, I assumed it was a standard class that would simply teach students PR methods. However, the class proved to be much more than that.
It has proven to be a hands-on course that has helped me develop my professional and communication skills through real-life experience.
When it comes to PR, I am not the most savvy person, but through 1910 PR I have grown to be comfortable and confident in the field.
Much of this can be attributed to the class giving actual experience in running PR for a client. The client group I have been apart of is the Department of Communication.
Much of the work has involved creating graphics, writing captions, and promoting events and courses across social media and the campus.
This work has given me insights into how to produce content and manage a client, as well helped me be more aware of events happening in the department.
My favorite and most valuable experience I have had in the class was promoting the storytelling festival. This required me to make several graphics, as well as write several drafts for a news release.
What made this work so valuable for me is that it made me step out of my comfort zone and allowed me to become more confident in my abilities with PR.
This semester in 1910 PR has provided me with many worthwhile experiences. Coming into this class while being unfamiliar with PR has allowed me to gain new information into a section of my major that I never knew about.
I am very thankful I was able to be a part of this class during my last semester at WT!
