Making My Last Semester Memorable

As my college career comes to an end, one of the biggest things I had to do was decide on an internship to build my skills and knowledge for the field of my choosing.
Last semester, I spent my time as executive director for 1910 PR, a student run public relations (PR) firm on campus, where I advanced my leadership skills and worked closely with campus clients. Looking ahead to my last semester, I didn’t want this course to be just another credit on my transcript, I wanted to continue to grow in public relations.

Upon returning to 1910 PR, I have decided to resume the role of executive director. From the start of this semester, I have been excited about our clients and our team. The vast amount of talent we have in the course this semester is amazing.
I’m looking forward to returning to work for the Sybil B. Harrington College of Fine Arts and Humanities this semester. During the semester, we will be celebrating 1910 PR’s birthday which is an exciting opportunity to work on event planning and promotion for the organization.
My experience in this team has been one of the best that I have had in my college career. Working directly with clients, I have had the opportunity to work on social media, events, and newsletters.
I have also been able to strengthen my design skills through creating social media graphics and design challenges for our weekly podcast episode. Each of these skills can be used regardless of what route I decide to take with PR.
Even though this is just the beginning of my final semester, I am so excited to be a part of this team again. All the things that I have learned and will continue to learn this semester will aid me in my future career goals.
1910 PR is not just another checkmark on a transcript, but it’s a specialized PR firm that will help you prepare for your future.
