1910 PR will always be the class where my knowledge about Public Relations grew and how as a PR professional that you must be ready for anything that comes your way. Whether that is good for your company or whether that is bad, you must always be ready and up on your toes.

When I first signed up for this class, I did not expect it to feel like an actual “client” office. Everything that we do in the classroom is all PR-related activities from reaching out to a client, emailing certain students about an event, and even coming up with content creation for social media.

1910 PR has pushed beyond my expectations of becoming a communications professional, and hopefully in the end, it’ll all be worth it.

As this student-run PR firm continues, I look at how much I have learned over the course of two semester, Fall 2025 and Spring 2026.

From not knowing nothing about clients “relying” on us to spread important information, to what Public Relations is all about, to even learning how to schedule a post on social media, I can say that I have grown fond of Public Relations and 1910 PR.

What has grown for me is that how much work it involves, whether that is coming up with ideas for a reel that will bring the engagement in to even coming up with a caption for a post. I did not think stuff like that could have expanded my knowledge, especially after each time I create something, I end up fixing it to where I looks nicer.

The small details in PR can be a big deal. I have to make sure that when it comes to anything I do in there, it must be done correctly. The Department of Communication is a fundamental department with a lot of creativity “behind the scenes that are in the classroom.”

The PR field has taught me to stay ahead of yourself, always be one step ahead in the organization so you can plan out what needs to come next.

It is the trust, and the building connections is what makes PR such a fun field to be a part of. I know that I have made countless connections with other professionals and friends along the way, and all of that happened because of 1910 PR.
