So far in 1910 PR, one of the things I enjoy most is how hands-on the class is. Instead of just learning about public relations and social media in theory, we are actively working with real clients. This makes the material feel more practical and relevant, and it helps connect classroom concepts to real-world situations. Having tangible responsibilities gives me a better understanding of how PR functions in a professional setting.

My assigned client is the 1910 PR social media account, and I enjoy seeing the class from a content creator’s perspective.

Creating posts for an actual organization makes me think more intentionally about branding, audience, and messaging. It is very different from posting on personal social media, because each post needs to align with the brand’s identity and communicate professionally.

This experience helps me better understand the strategy behind effective social media management. We also spend time practicing graphic design and learning what makes a graphic effective and what does not. Reviewing both strong and weak design examples helps me recognize how elements like font choice, spacing, color, and layout influence how a message is perceived.

Ultimately, this class helps me build valuable skills in evaluating and creating social media content, and I am excited to continue growing and learning more throughout the semester. Learning about public relations and social media in theory, we are actively working with real clients.
